Privacy Policy
Effective 21 August 2026
Illumandala collects nothing about you.
No account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and nothing sent to a server. Everything below is the detail behind that sentence.
This policy covers the Illumandala iOS app and the website at illumandala.com. Both are made by Nate Kates. Throughout this page, "we" means that one person.
What the app stores
Illumandala saves your settings — the mode you last used, your colour palette, particle shape, and slider values — so the app opens the way you left it. This is written to your device's local storage.
That data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted, backed up to us, or readable by anyone but you. Deleting the app deletes it.
What the website stores
- A single flag recording that you dismissed the banner suggesting the iOS app, so it doesn't reappear on every visit. This lives in your browser's local storage.
- If you copy a link to a particular setup, your settings are encoded into
the link itself, after the
#. Everything after a#stays in your browser and is never sent to a web server. Anyone you share that link with receives your settings — and nothing else about you.
What we don't do
- No accounts, sign-ins, or profiles.
- No analytics or usage tracking of any kind.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No cookies used for tracking.
- No location, contacts, camera, microphone, or photo library access.
- No third-party SDKs that collect data.
- Nothing is sold or shared, because nothing is collected.
Information Apple provides
If you download the app from the App Store, Apple may share aggregate, anonymous statistics with us — things like how many devices installed the app in a given country. We can't identify anyone from this, and we receive it only if you have consented to share analytics with developers in your device settings. Apple's handling of that data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Children
Illumandala is safe for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because nothing is collected, there is nothing we could knowingly gather from a child. If you believe otherwise, contact us and we'll investigate.
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you the right to access, correct, or delete personal data a company holds about you. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing to request, correct, or erase. The settings on your device are yours alone — clear them by deleting the app or clearing your browser's site data.
Changes to this policy
If Illumandala ever adds a feature that changes any of the above, this page will be updated before that feature ships, and the effective date at the top will change. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
